Frequently asked questions
What is “general area”, “border area” and “Naxal area”?
Some vacancies are kept for candidates living in border districts, or in districts affected by Naxal or militant violence. Only candidates from those districts can compete for them, so their cut-offs are separate and usually lower.
Why is the cut-off different for each state?
SSC GD vacancies are allotted state-wise, so you compete only with candidates from your own state (and your own area type) for your state’s seats.
Is the SSC GD cut-off the same for BSF, CRPF and CISF?
The figures above are the cut-off to be called for the physical tests, which is common for all forces in the state. At the final stage, each force has its own cut-off depending on your rank and the force you chose.
How many candidates were finally selected in 2024?
The 2024 final result selected 38,603 men and 4,818 women for the CAPFs.
