Three common percentage calculations
- X% of Y: multiply Y by X and divide by 100. For example, 20% of 450 is 90.
- X is what % of Y: divide X by Y and multiply by 100. For example, 45 out of 60 is 75%.
- Percentage change from X to Y: subtract X from Y, divide by X and multiply by 100. A positive answer is a rise and a negative answer is a fall.
