Physical standards calculator
Check your height and chest against the physical standards for Police, SSC GD and Railway Protection Force posts.
The ready-made figures are typical standards from recent notifications and recruitment rules, and they change from year to year. Always confirm them in the current official notification. Weight, eyesight and other medical standards are checked separately at the actual test. Calculated in your browser; nothing is stored.
How the physical standards calculator works
Pick the recruitment, your gender and your category. The minimum height and chest are filled in for you, and you can change them to match your notification. Then enter your own measurements to see whether you meet each standard and by how much you are short, if you are.
Typical standards used in the calculator
| Recruitment | Male height | Male chest | Female height |
|---|---|---|---|
| SSC GD Constable (General, SC, OBC) | 170 cm | 80 cm, expansion 5 cm | 157 cm |
| SSC GD Constable (ST) | 162.5 cm | 76 cm, expansion 5 cm | 150 cm |

These figures come from recent notifications and published recruitment rules. They change from time to time, and some regions and communities get extra relaxation. Always confirm the standards in the current official notification before you apply.
How are height and chest measured?
Height is measured without shoes. Chest is measured around the chest, first with a normal breath out and then fully expanded. The difference between the two is the expansion. Chest standards apply to male candidates only. Weight and medical standards are checked separately at the test.
