Who Should Apply
- Check which list a post is in before you apply. The 9 fixed-term posts are contracts that end by themselves after 3 years, can be extended by up to 2 more, and come with no promise of a regular job. If you want a permanent post, apply only for the regular ones.
- Deputy Manager is the way in: 20 of the 31 regular posts are at this level, and it asks for just 4 years of experience after your qualification. Posts from Manager upwards ask for 7 to 23 years.
- Only the two Junior Manager posts have a written test. For every other post, GSL says it can raise the minimum eligibility and shortlist before calling anyone, so meeting the minimum does not guarantee an interview call.
- Both Junior Manager posts ask for 15 years of experience. The Delhi Office post also needs Armed Forces service, with at least 5 years of liaison work with defence services, ministries and public sector units.
- GSL can post selected candidates to any location or department it chooses, so think about that before you apply.
Selection Process
| Stage | Details |
|---|---|
| All posts except Junior Manager | |
| 1. Shortlisting | GSL can raise the minimum eligibility when many people apply, and it decides its own way of screening applications. Only shortlisted candidates are called. |
| 2. Interview | The only selection stage. Shortlisted candidates get a call letter by email at the address they gave while applying. |
| Junior Manager (Coordination, Delhi Office and Safety) | |
| 1. Written test | 85 marks. To pass you need 50% (UR and EWS) or 45% (SC, ST, OBC(NCL) and PwBD, where the post is reserved). |
| 2. Document verification | For those who pass the written test |
| 3. Interview | 15 marks. Pass marks are 50% (UR and EWS) or 45% (reserved categories). |
| 4. Final merit list | Candidates who pass the interview are ranked on written test and interview marks added together, following the reservation rules. If two candidates tie, the older one ranks higher. |
In short: for every post except Junior Manager, the interview decides everything. For Junior Manager, the written test carries 85 marks and the interview 15, and the two are added to make your final score. Outstation candidates called for interview get a travel allowance (AC 2-tier rail fare for Additional General Manager and below, economy air fare for CGM and GM), but only on showing proof of the journey.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Applying online and stopping there. GSL also has to receive your printout and documents by post by 02.12.2026.
- Sending one application for two posts. Each post needs its own application and its own Rs. 500 fee, and the fee is not returned even if you turn out to be ineligible.
- Using a digital or typed signature. The notice wants a scan of your own signature on paper with a pen.
- Pressing back or refresh during payment. You may be charged twice, and no Fee Receipt means the payment did not go through.
- Forgetting the NOC if you work in government or a PSU. Without it you will not be allowed into the selection process for a regular post.
- Counting your experience from the wrong date. Age and experience are both counted as on 30.09.2026, not on the day you apply.
