Each post counts your age on a fixed date. For most posts that is 1 July of the year of the advertisement. For the Vidyut Suraksha posts it is 1 January of the next year, because the advertisement is dated in the second half of 2026.

Only three posts ask for a minimum age of 21: Technical Assistant, Research Assistant and the UPSCIDCO engineer post. Every other post starts at 18.
Selection Process

Salary and Benefits
A Pay Level is a government pay grade in the 7th Pay Commission pay matrix. The older system showed a pay band plus a Grade Pay, which is where figures like ₹9,300 to ₹34,800 and ₹4,200 come from.

Where the notification gives the new pay matrix, Level 6 starts at ₹35,400 a month before allowances. Several posts are listed with the older ₹9,300 to ₹34,800 band instead, exactly as the notification printed them.
How to Apply
- Go to upsssc.gov.in. When applications open on 06.11.2026, find Advertisement No. 25-Pariksha/2026 under the Live Advertisement section on the homepage.
- Log in with your PET-2025 registration number. An OTP (one-time password) goes to the mobile number or email you gave for PET.
- Your personal details come from your PET form. Check them, then select every post you are qualified for. A post you do not select is not considered for you.
- Fill in your qualification details (board or university, year, certificate or roll number, date of certificate, marks), and choose Yes or No for the preference qualification. Enter the verification code and click Submit.
- Tick the declaration, click Save and Submit, then pay ₹25 by card, net banking, UPI or SBI e-challan. The form is final only after the bank confirms the fee. Download and print your application form.
Note: Applications by any other route are not accepted. You can correct only these details until 04.12.2026: correspondence address, EWS and horizontal reservation details, qualification details and marital status. The notification does not ask you to upload a new photo or signature.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Apply only if you sat PET-2025. Without a PET scorecard you cannot log in.
- Pay the ₹25 fee by 27.11.2026 and make sure the bank confirms it by 04.12.2026. Without that, your form is not final.
- Submit one application only. If you send more than one, only the last one counts and the rest are cancelled.
- Reservation is for original UP residents only. Everyone else is counted as Unreserved, and women need a caste certificate made on the father’s side.
- Choose only the posts you are qualified for. A wrong or false detail can get your candidature cancelled and may bar you from future exams.
- Do not wait for a correction chance. After 04.12.2026 no change to your form is possible.
