Selection Process

StageDetails
Stage 1 — Merit List PreparationBased on the average of percentage marks in Matriculation (minimum 50% aggregate, total of ALL subjects — not best-of-five) and ITI (average of consolidated marks across all semesters as per NCVT/SCVT certificate), with equal weightage given to both. There is no written test or interview. In case of a tie, the older candidate is preferred; if DOB also matches, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier is preferred.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don’t submit more than one application for the same trade with varying details (name/father’s name/community/qualification) — all such applications get summarily rejected.
  • Double-check that your name, father’s name and date of birth exactly match your Matriculation certificate before submitting.
  • OBC candidates must upload a Non-Creamy Layer certificate valid for 2026-27, issued on or after 01.04.2026.
  • Enter your Matriculation and ITI marks/CGPA exactly as per your original mark sheets — any discrepancy found during Document Verification leads to summary rejection.
  • Your Trade and Division/Workshop preference, once submitted, is final and cannot be changed later.
  • Keep your fee payment receipt and a printout of the submitted application safe; do not post physical copies to RRC/NCR.
