Overall capEven after adding all relaxations together, the maximum age cannot go above 58 years as on the date of the notification

Who Should Apply

  • This is a fixed-term job, not a permanent one. A contract post starts with 2 years and can be extended if both sides agree; a deputation post starts with 3 years and can stretch to 5.
  • If you already work for the government or a PSU, the notification asks you to apply through proper channel (your employer forwards your application) to hr@cmrl.in, and to bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC, a letter from your employer saying it is fine with you applying) to the interview.
  • Private-sector applicants need proof that the company they worked for is big enough (project size or yearly turnover, as shown in the eligibility table), plus an organisation chart showing their own level. CMRL says applications without the supporting papers are rejected outright.
  • The Assistant Manager (Public Relations) post needs a PG degree in Public Relations or Communication, so a general graduate degree is not enough. The other five posts are for engineers with a B.E / B.Tech.
  • Only an interview and a medical test are listed, and CMRL does not pay TA or DA (travel and daily allowance) for attending the interview.

Selection Process

StageDetails
1. ShortlistingCMRL checks your online form and the documents you upload. Only shortlisted candidates are called for the interview, and meeting the conditions does not guarantee a call.
2. InterviewJudges your knowledge, skills, comprehension, attitude and aptitude. The notification gives no marks, weightage, date or venue yet.
3. Medical examinationCMRL pays for the first medical test. You pay your own travel to and from the test, and the second test if you ask for an extension of your joining date. A candidate who fails the medical test is not offered any other job.
4. Certificate and character checkProvisionally selected candidates bring their original certificates for verification. CMRL may also inquire into your character and antecedents (past record) before appointing you.

In short: the notification lists no written exam. CMRL shortlists from the documents you upload, interviews the shortlisted candidates, and the medical test comes last. Passing the interview does not by itself give you the job, because the medical test and the character check still have to be cleared.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Count your age, qualification and experience as on 14.10.2026. The notification fixes that date for all three.
  • Do not leave the form or the uploads incomplete. The notification says incomplete applications, or ones without the supporting papers, are rejected outright.
  • Make sure the experience certificate for your latest job describes the work you actually do, because the notification asks for that detail.
  • Serving government and PSU employees: apply through proper channel and keep your NOC ready for the interview.
  • Private-sector applicants: upload the organisation chart and the project size or turnover proof with your form.
  • Check your eligibility before paying the fee. It cannot be refunded under any circumstances, and no hard copy should be posted to CMRL.
