Eligibility Criteria
| Criterion | Detail |
|---|---|
| Educational Qualification | Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Fire / Fire and Safety, with at least 60% aggregate marks, from a recognised Indian university or institution |
| Work Experience | At least 1 year of work after your degree in Fire and Safety in Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals, Fertilizer, Power, Chemical, Engineering, Project Construction (not real estate) or Manufacturing |
| What counts as experience | Only full-time work after your degree result is declared. Trainee work, teaching or research, freelance work and your own business do not count |
| Age Limit | Maximum 40 years for UR as on 07.11.2026. See the relaxation table below Check your age eligibility → |
| Nationality | Indian nationals only |
| Disability (PwBD) suitability | The post is marked suitable for candidates with at least 40% disability in these groups: Hard of Hearing (HH), Autism Spectrum Disorder – Mild (ASD-M) and Specific Learning Disability (SLD). No separate seats are stated |
| Language | Working knowledge of Hindi is desirable |
| Application Limit | Apply once only. If MRPL receives more than one form, the latest one is used |
| Category | Maximum Age |
|---|---|
| UR (Unreserved) | 40 years |
| OBC (NCL) | 43 years |
| UR with PwBD | 45 years |
| OBC (NCL) with PwBD | 48 years |
PwBD means Persons with Benchmark Disability, with 40% or more disability, and they get 5 extra years. Ex-Servicemen get relaxation as per Government of India rules. No one can be older than 50, even after all relaxations. In short, OBC (NCL) candidates get 3 extra years, but only for the one post reserved for OBC, so a 42-year-old OBC candidate can compete for that one post and not for the 4 general posts.
Selection Process
| Stage | Details |
|---|---|
| 1. Screening of forms | MRPL checks every form. It calls up to 10 eligible candidates for each post, so about 50 for these 5 posts |
| 2. Extra screening (only if too many qualify) | MRPL may cut the list by more experience than the minimum, counted in years, months and days, or by higher related education, such as M.E./M.Tech. These marks are not added to your final merit |
| 3. Personal Interview (PI) | This is the only test. The qualifying mark is 50%, and the merit list is made from interview marks alone. If two candidates tie, the older one by date of birth is chosen. The date and call letter come on the MRPL website |
| 4. Document check and medical | Bring original documents plus self-attested copies to the interview. You must also pass MRPL’s medical standard, and MRPL checks your character, caste and past employment before the offer |
In short, there is no written exam. Your rank comes only from the interview, and you need at least 50% marks in it.
Salary and Benefits
| Component | Detail |
|---|---|
| Annual Consolidated Pay | ₹12 lakh for 1 year to under 5 years of experience; ₹13 lakh for 5 years to under 6 years; ₹14 lakh for 6 years and above |
| Provident Fund (PF) | As per the EPFO wage ceiling, revised from time to time (PF is a retirement savings fund) |
| Gratuity | Payable after more than 1 year of engagement (a lump sum paid for long service) |
| Compensation on death | ₹25 lakh ex-gratia (a payment made as a favour, not a legal duty) to the family, for natural or accidental death |
| Extra accident compensation | Another ₹25 lakh to the family if death is due to an accident arising out of the job or inside MRPL premises |
| Other benefits | As per the MRPL PFTE policy |
In plain terms, you get one fixed yearly amount, not a basic pay with allowances on top. With 1 year of experience that is ₹12 lakh, about ₹1 lakh a month, and the notice does not say what is deducted from it.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Meet every condition on 07.11.2026, not on the day you apply. MRPL checks your age, marks and experience against that date.
- OBC (NCL) candidates need a caste certificate in the prescribed format issued on or after 01.04.2026. If you are in the creamy layer (the better-off families within OBC), you must apply as UR.
- Marks are never rounded up, so 59.99% does not count as 60%. If your university gives a CGPA, use its own formula, and if it has none, MRPL multiplies by 10 and wants proof that no formula exists.
- Keep the mark sheet of every semester or year ready. Sending only the last semester’s sheet gets your form rejected.
- Upload an experience letter for every past job you list. One missing letter can reject you, even if your other letters prove 1 year.
- You cannot correct anything after you submit, and you cannot change your email or mobile number after registering. Check every entry twice.
