Who Should Apply

  • If you missed the 14.10.2026 drive, this is a different advertisement with its own vacancy codes. It is bigger (41 posts against about 16) and has no Project Scientist-I posts, which the earlier one did. Read the earlier post here: CSIR IICB Project Associate Recruitment 2026 – 16 Posts.
  • These are project jobs, not permanent ones. The job lasts as long as the project does (the notice calls this co-terminus), it gives no right to a permanent post, and the total tenure across all CSIR labs cannot go beyond 6 years.
  • Many posts show a tenure only up to 31.03.2027, with extension depending on the project and the Review Committee. Plan for a short first stretch.
  • Pay depends on a national test. Project Associate-I earns Rs 6,000 a month more, and Project Associate-II Rs 7,000 more, if you have qualified NET or GATE or a similar national exam.
  • It is an interview-only drive. No written test is mentioned, so the useful preparation is matching your degree and experience to the vacancy code you choose.

Selection Process

StageDetails
1. Fill the formDownload the application form from the link below and fill it in. Use one form per selection committee and write every vacancy code you want in the space provided
2. Report at the venueReach CSIR-IICB, Jadavpur, Kolkata by 08:45 AM on 03.11.2026. The entry gate closes at 10:00 AM. Carry the form and your documents (original and self-attested copies)
3. Walk-in interviewHeld on 03.11.2026 before the selection committee for your vacancy code. Committee B1 covers codes 5922601 to 5922613, B2 covers 5922614 to 5922631 and 5922639, and C1 covers 5922632 to 5922638
4. SelectionAbout 41 candidates will be selected (the number may go up or down). The Institute can accept or reject any candidature, or cancel the advertisement, without giving a reason

In short: it is a one-day interview and the notice lists nothing else, so there is no written exam. Check your degree and experience against the code you want, because each code asks for something different.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Carry the original of every certificate and one self-attested copy (a photocopy you have signed yourself) of each. The notice asks for both.
  • If you apply for codes under different selection committees (B1, B2 and C1), fill a separate form for each committee.
