The one PwBD seat (a person with benchmark disability) is an MTS post in the Public Works Department, kept for locomotor disability such as cerebral palsy, cured leprosy, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy. For MTS and Peon posts the notice names one arm, one leg, partially deaf and partially blind as the suitable conditions. Two Ex-Servicemen (Ex-SM) seats are in the Directorate of Sainik Welfare-cum-Rajya Sainik Board and two are in the Public Works Department, and only indigenous Arunachal Pradesh tribals can claim them. The Board says these numbers are provisional and can change.
Eligibility Criteria
| Criterion | Detail |
|---|---|
| Citizenship and Residence | You must be an Indian citizen and live in Arunachal Pradesh, with a valid Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) from the state government. |
| Tribe Status | You must be an original inhabitant of Arunachal Pradesh and hold an Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) Certificate. The notice says this rule applies to all vacancies, including the UR seats. |
| Language | You must be able to speak an indigenous tribal language of Arunachal Pradesh and know the local tribes. The notice says the language test follows a state government notification dated 26.08.2026 and does not describe it further. |
| Educational Qualification | Class 10 pass or ITI (or equivalent) from a recognized Board or institution. This is the same for all nine post codes. |
| Age Limit | 18 to 35 years as on 23.11.2026 Check your age eligibility → |
| Category | Age Relaxation |
|---|---|
| APST | Up to 5 years |
| PwBD | Up to 15 years |
| In-Service candidates | 5 years extra, over the normal relaxation, for departmental candidates with 3 years of continuous service who apply for Group C posts in the same or a related cadre |
| Ex-Servicemen | Your years of service are subtracted from your actual age. You are within the limit if the result is not more than 3 years above the maximum age. |
In short: this recruitment is only for APST candidates who live in Arunachal Pradesh and can speak a local tribal language. If you are from another state, or you do not hold an APST certificate, you cannot apply.
Selection Process
| Stage | Details |
|---|---|
| Stage 1: Written Exam | This is the only exam stage. It is one objective (multiple-choice) test of 200 marks in 2 hours, with four sections of 25 questions each at 2 marks per question: General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning Ability, Arithmetical and Numerical Ability, and English Language and Comprehension. There is no negative marking and no separate cut-off for each section. You must score at least 33% of the total marks. The Board makes the merit list as per the order of preference you give for posts and departments. |
| Language Test | The notice lists a tribal language skill as a condition. How the test works is set by the state government notification dated 26.08.2026, and the timing is not stated in this notice. |
| Document Verification | Shortlisted candidates upload copies of their documents on the APSSB portal when told to, and bring the originals plus legible self-attested photocopies on the verification day. Candidates who fail to produce them are rejected, and no extra time is given. |
| Exam Centres | You must choose 3 centres in order of preference from: Aalo, Bomdila, Changlang, Itanagar Capital Region, Khonsa, Namsai, Papum Pare, Pasighat, Seppa, Tawang, Tezu and Ziro. Centre changes are not allowed later. |
In short: one 200-mark multiple-choice test decides your rank, and with no negative marking it is worth attempting every question. 33% of 200 is 66 marks, which is the minimum you need.
