In short: each subject has its own list, and M-1 is first place in that subject. Compare marks only within the same subject, because each subject has its own paper and its own list. GE and BC in the Category column stand for General and Backward Class. WE also appears next to three entries, and the lists do not explain it, so check the official PDF before reading anything into it.

Next Stage

The eight PDFs show only names, roll numbers, categories and written marks. They do not say what comes next, such as document verification (a check of your original certificates) or a date to report. Watch the RPSC website for the next notice.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Checking only one PDF. There are eight lists, one per subject, so open the one for your subject.
  • Searching by name. Use your roll number, since several names in these lists look alike.
  • Comparing marks across subjects. A score in one subject says nothing about another subject.
  • Treating a merit list as a joining letter. The PDFs do not say anything about appointment, so wait for the next RPSC notice.
  • Ignoring the Category column. If the category shown looks wrong for you, contact RPSC quickly through its official website.
