- In the PwBD column, (a), (b), (c) and (d&e) are the types of benchmark disability. The notification keeps the table showing which type suits which discipline in Annexure-I.
Eligibility Criteria
| Criterion | Detail |
|---|---|
| Educational Qualification and Experience | As per the Recruitment Rules for each discipline. The notice points to Annexure-II for them and does not print them. |
| Citizenship | You must be a citizen of India. |
| Age Limit | There is no upper age limit. The age of retirement follows DTU’s norms. |
| Date for checking eligibility | Qualification, age, experience and other conditions are checked as on 07.12.2026 (5:00 PM). |
| 5% marks relaxation | For Applied Mathematics, Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics, Engineering Physics (non-Engineering candidates), Humanities (Economics), Humanities (English), Economics (USME), Geospatial Science and Biotechnology (non-Engineering candidates): SC, ST, OBC (NCL-Delhi) and PwBD candidates get 5% off the 55% minimum at bachelor’s and master’s level, as per the UGC Gazette Notification dated 18.07.2018. No grace marks count. |
| Master’s before 19.09.1991 | Ph.D. holders who got their master’s degree before 19.09.1991 also get a 5% relaxation, from 55% to 50%. |
| Degrees treated as equal | B.Sc. (Engineering), B.E., B.Tech. and B.S. (four years or more) are equal. M.Sc. (Engineering), M.E., M.Tech. and M.S. are equal. AMIE/IETE in the relevant branches also counts. |
| Degrees from abroad | You need an equivalence or recognition certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the body that certifies foreign degrees. A foreign Ph.D. must be AIU-recognised. |
| Class or division not awarded | Minimum 60% marks in aggregate counts as first class. |
| Application Restriction | One online application per post. For a second discipline, file a separate application and pay the fee again. |
| Already employed | If you work in a Government department, autonomous body or university under the Centre or a State, apply through proper channel. |
Category Certificate Rules
| Category | Rule |
|---|---|
| OBC | Only OBC (NCL-Delhi) candidates get the OBC benefit. OBC candidates from outside Delhi and those in the creamy layer must apply as UR. You need an OBC certificate issued by the Delhi Revenue Department, or one from outside Delhi that is based on a Delhi OBC certificate of your father, sibling or paternal uncle who lived in Delhi before 08.09.1993. The Non-Creamy Layer certificate must be issued on or after 01.04.2026 and not later than 07.12.2026. |
| EWS | You need the Income and Asset Certificate for 2026-27 (based on 2025-26 income), as per the Delhi Government circular dated 28.05.2019. |
| SC / ST / PwBD | Your certificate must be issued by the competent authority on or before 07.12.2026. Only candidates with the applicable benchmark disability count as PwBD. |
| PwBD reservation | It is a horizontal reservation, so it runs across the SC, ST, OBC, EWS and unreserved posts. A PwBD post that stays empty is carried forward to a later advertisement. |
| Own-merit candidates | A reserved-category candidate who is selected on the same standard as UR candidates is counted against an unreserved post. |
In short: there is no age cut-off for this post, so the Recruitment Rules for your discipline decide whether you are eligible. Read them in Annexure-II of the official notification before you pay, because the fee is never refunded.
Who Should Apply
- The first screening is scored out of 100: 30 points for a Ph.D., up to 60 for your pre-Ph.D. degree marks and 10 for a qualifying test such as UGC/CSIR-NET (JRF), GATE or CEED. If you have none of these, you get no points for them.
- The biggest openings are Computer Science and Engineering (36 posts), Civil Engineering and Production Engineering (20 each) and Mechanical Engineering (18).
- You apply to each discipline separately and pay the fee each time. If you fit two departments, add up the fee before you apply twice.
- Eight posts, Geospatial Science (2) and Geospatial Technology (6), are borrowed from other disciplines for now. DTU says it will regularise them only after the posts are created and sanctioned, so read that note before you choose them.
- You must come in person at every stage, because DTU takes your biometrics at document verification, presentation and interview. It pays no travel allowance for any of them.
Selection Process
| Stage | Details |
|---|---|
| 1. Online application | Fill in your category, marks, Ph.D., test score and Table-I points on dtu.ac.in. A computer processes what you enter, so any mistake is yours to carry. |
| 2. Initial screening (100 points) | Ph.D.: 30 points. Pre-Ph.D. degree: up to 60 points, worked out as 35 + 0.5 × (your % marks − 50). Qualifying test (UGC/CSIR-NET JRF, GATE or CEED, in your field): 10 points. |
| 3. Consideration zone list | DTU publishes a provisional list of applicants who get detailed checking. It holds up to 1.2 times the number to be shortlisted, plus anyone tied with the last name. |
| 4. Send your documents | People on that list post a signed printout of the form and self-attested copies of all documents, in one sealed envelope, to The Recruitment Cell, Room No. 818, 8th Floor, AB-3 Block, DTU, Shahbad Daulatpur, Bawana Road, Delhi – 110042, by the date shown on the website. |
| 5. Provisional shortlist | Made on the Table-II score. At most (4 + 8X) candidates per discipline and category, where X is the number of posts advertised. If a reserved-category cut-off is higher than the UR cut-off, reserved candidates scoring at or above the UR cut-off are also shortlisted. Those left out cannot go further. |
| 6. Document and Point Mark Verification | Bring the originals and a set of self-attested copies. DTU checks every point you claimed. A point with no document scores zero, and a missing document cancels your candidature. |
| 7. Presentation | A teaching presentation before the committee, on a date and time DTU announces. It tests your teaching aptitude and ability. |
| 8. Interview | The Selection Committee tests your domain knowledge and interview performance. |
| 9. Final selection | Based on academic record, experience and research, the presentation, domain knowledge and the interview. The Selection Committee can recommend extra increments for exceptional merit. |
In short: a computer ranks all applicants on degree marks, Ph.D. and test score. Only the top group in each discipline and category goes on to documents, a presentation and an interview. The notice does not say how many marks the presentation and the interview carry.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Check every detail before you press submit. DTU will not change your category, marks or any other detail afterwards, whether you ask by post, fax, e-mail or in person.
- File only one application for a post. If DTU finds more than one from you for the same post, it may reject all of them.
- Do not leave it for the last hour. After 05:00 PM on 07.12.2026 no application counts, even if the payment went through.
- Keep proof for every point you claim. A claim with no document gets zero, and a missing document at verification cancels your candidature.
- Count only papers that are already published, online or in print, by 07.12.2026. Papers that are accepted, in press or under review get no points.
- Give an e-mail address and mobile number that you check every day. DTU writes to those and puts all updates on dtu.ac.in.
