Eligibility Criteria
| Criterion | Detail |
|---|---|
| Gender | Only women candidates are eligible for both Anganwadi Worker and Anganwadi Helper posts |
| Educational Qualification | Intermediate (12th) or its equivalent is the minimum. The merit list is prepared on marks from Intermediate up to Post Graduate level |
| Age Limit | Minimum 18 years and maximum 35 years, calculated as on the cut-off date 01.07.2026. Only the date of birth printed on the High School marksheet and certificate is accepted Check your age eligibility → |
| Domicile / Residence | The applicant must be a permanent resident of the same Gram Sabha or Ward in which the vacant Anganwadi centre falls. If no eligible candidate is available in that Gram Sabha, permanent residence in the concerned Nyay Panchayat is accepted. For urban vacancies the ward number and ward name must be printed on the residence certificate |
| BPL Income Limit | Rs. 46,080 per year for rural areas and Rs. 56,460 per year for urban areas, per Samaj Kalyan Anubhag-2 Government Order No. 22/2015/2123/26-2-2015 dated 14.09.2015 (as amended) |
| Certificate Validity | Residence, caste and income certificates must be issued at the Tehsil level with an online digital signature so they can be verified online. Amethi additionally requires the income certificate to be issued within 3 years of the advertisement date |
| Family Restriction | Two women from the same family cannot be appointed as Anganwadi Worker and Anganwadi Helper at the same Anganwadi centre |
| Application Restriction | Applications are accepted online only, within the prescribed window. Offline, printed or posted applications are rejected outright |
Selection Process
| Stage | Details |
|---|---|
| 1. Online Application | Submitted only on upanganwadibharti.in within the district’s window, with all self-attested documents uploaded. Incomplete, incorrect or fraudulent applications are cancelled and the candidate alone is responsible. There is no offline correction facility. |
| 2. Educational Merit | No written exam and no interview is held. Merit is computed from academic marks only, from Intermediate up to Post Graduate. Amethi’s notice states the formula: the percentage of marks obtained in Intermediate is divided by 10 (for example 300 out of 500 is 60 per cent, giving 6 merit points), and graduate and post-graduate scores are added on the same basis. |
| 3. Priority Order | Within each Gram Sabha or Ward the seniority order is: first, widows of families living below the poverty line; then legally divorced or abandoned women below the poverty line; then other BPL women. If no BPL candidate is available, the same order is applied to widows, divorced or abandoned women and then other women from families above the poverty line, from the same Gram Sabha or Ward. |
| 4. Document Verification | Only documents uploaded on the portal are considered by the Selection Committee. Widow claims need a death certificate and a certified copy of the family register issued by the Gram Panchayat Adhikari or the concerned Nagar Nikaya; divorced or abandoned status needs a legal order from an Hon’ble Court. |
| 5. District Selection Committee | The District Selection Committee is the authority to select, to reject a defective application, or to decide not to fill a vacancy at all. Its decision is final. |
Application Fee
None of the eight district notifications mentions an application fee for the Anganwadi Worker or Anganwadi Helper posts. Candidates should confirm the current position on the registration page of upanganwadibharti.in before submitting the form, since no fee amount is stated in the notices themselves.
Salary and Benefits
These are honorarium-based contractual engagements (mandeya par sanvida adharit niyukti), not regular government posts. None of the eight district notices states the honorarium amount, so no pay figure is published here. Azamgarh’s notice adds an important caveat that applies statewide: the Uttar Pradesh State Employees Service Rules do not apply to Anganwadi Workers, and the engagement can be terminated at any time under the terms of the governing Government Order.
How to Apply
- Open upanganwadibharti.in and find your district in the Worker Vacancies or Helper Vacancies list on the home page. Open the official notice for your district and confirm the centre, ward or Gram Sabha you are eligible for.
- Click the registration link shown for your district’s listing — the portal runs separate registration paths for Anganwadi Worker and Anganwadi Helper, so use the one that matches the post you are applying for.
- Fill the online form exactly as it appears on your certificates, including the ward number and ward name for urban vacancies and the correct Anganwadi centre name and centre code.
- Upload clean, readable, self-attested scans of every required document along with your photograph and signature in the sizes the form specifies.
- Check every entry against the original certificates, submit before 12:00 midnight on your district’s last date, and save or print the acknowledgement.
Note: Applications sent offline, by post or by registered dak are not accepted in any circumstance. Once submitted, an application cannot be corrected offline, and marks, percentages or details found wrong or forged lead to outright cancellation of candidature.
Documents Required
| Document | Format / Notes |
|---|---|
| High School marksheet and certificate | Mandatory — the date of birth on this document is the only one accepted for age calculation |
| Intermediate marksheet and certificate | Minimum qualification; marks feed directly into the merit calculation |
| Graduation / Post Graduation marksheets | If held — higher qualifications add to the merit score |
| Residence certificate | Issued from Tehsil with an online digital signature so it can be verified online. Urban applicants must have the ward number and ward name printed on it |
| Caste certificate | For SC, ST and OBC candidates — digitally signed and online-verifiable, issued in the applicant’s own name |
| Income certificate | Issued by the competent authority per Rajasva Anubhag-9 Government Order No. 3959/1-9-11-Ra-9 dated 30.09.2011 (as amended). Amethi requires it to be issued within 3 years of the advertisement date |
| Death certificate and family register | For widow claims — certified copy issued by the Gram Panchayat Adhikari or concerned Nagar Nikaya |
| Court order | For legally divorced or abandoned applicants — an order issued by an Hon’ble Court is the only accepted proof |
| Photograph and signature | Scanned and uploaded in the size the portal form specifies; a sample signature upload is mandatory Resize your photo and signature → |

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Applying for a centre outside your own Gram Sabha or Ward — residence in the exact Gram Sabha or Ward of the vacant centre is mandatory, and the Nyay Panchayat fallback applies only when no eligible candidate exists there.
- Uploading a residence, caste or income certificate that was issued manually instead of through the Tehsil’s online digitally-signed system — those cannot be verified online and the application is rejected.
- Using a date of birth from a school record other than the High School marksheet and certificate; only that document is accepted for the 01.07.2026 age calculation.
- Leaving the ward number or ward name blank on an urban application — Balrampur’s notice specifically requires the ward to be stated on the residence certificate for Balrampur Nagar Palika Parishad and Utraula.
- Assuming all eight districts close on the same day. Chitrakoot closes on 13.09.2026 while Amroha runs to 24.09.2026 — check your own district’s row.
- Sending a printed or posted application, or trying to correct a submitted form offline — neither is accepted, and a wrong or forged mark, percentage or certificate cancels the candidature outright.
- Registering on the wrong portal path — the site keeps separate registration links for Anganwadi Worker and Anganwadi Helper, so open your district’s own listing and use the link shown against it.
