Note: The Gram Panchayat-wise and Ward-wise breakup of these posts, with reservation, is published separately on upanganwadibharti.in and on the notice boards of the Bal Vikas Pariyojna office, Block Development Office, Tehsil, Nagar Palika Parishad, CMO office and the District Magistrate’s office in each district. The Kannauj and Kushinagar notices both state that the number of vacancies can increase or decrease according to the actual vacancy position.

Vigyaptis for several other Uttar Pradesh districts — including Amethi, Amroha (J. P. Nagar), Hamirpur, Azamgarh, Banda, Chitrakoot, Jhansi, Maharajganj and Saharanpur — are also open on the same portal with their own last dates. Check the Latest Vacancies list on upanganwadibharti.in for the district you belong to.

Eligibility Criteria

GenderOnly women candidates are eligible. Male candidates cannot apply for either post.
Educational QualificationMinimum Intermediate (12th) or equivalent. The maximum qualification considered is Post Graduation, and merit is prepared on the band from Intermediate up to Post Graduation.
Age LimitMinimum 18 years and maximum 35 years as on the cut-off date 01.07.2026. Only the date of birth printed on the High School marksheet and certificate is accepted.
Check your age eligibility →
Residence (the deciding condition)The applicant must be a permanent resident of the same Gram Sabha — or, in urban areas, the same Ward — in which the vacant post falls. Applications from any other Gram Sabha or Ward are rejected.
If no candidate is foundWhere no eligible candidate of a category is available in that Gram Sabha, category-wise selection is then made from within the concerned Nyaya Panchayat.
Age relaxationNo age relaxation for any category is stated in any of the five district notices. The 18 to 35 year band applies to all applicants.
Family restrictionTwo women from the same family cannot be appointed as Karyakatri and Sahayika at the same Anganwadi centre.
CertificatesResidence and caste certificates must be digitally signed and issued by the Tehsil, and must be verifiable online. Income certificates must be issued by the competent authority under Revenue Section-9 GO No. 3959/1-9-11-Raj-9 dated 30.09.2011, and must be online-verifiable. Kannauj additionally requires the income certificate to be valid for 3 years from the date of the advertisement.

Preference Order (Variyata)

PriorityCandidate category (within the same Gram Sabha / Ward)
1Widow from a Below Poverty Line (BPL) family
2Legally divorced or deserted (parityakta) woman from a BPL family
3Any other woman from a BPL family
4Widow from an Above Poverty Line (APL) family
5Legally divorced or deserted woman from an APL family
6Any other woman from an APL family

The BPL income ceiling follows Samaj Kalyan Anubhag-2 GO No. 22/2015/2123/26-2-2015 dated 14.09.2015 — Rs. 46,080 per family per year in rural areas and Rs. 56,460 per family per year in urban areas. For a widow, the death certificate of the husband issued by the Gram Panchayat Adhikari or the concerned Nagar Nikaya plus a certified copy of the family register (parivar panjika) is accepted. For a divorced or deserted woman, only a legal order issued by the Hon’ble Court is accepted.

Not sure whether you are within the age limit?
Enter the date of birth printed on your High School certificate and the cut-off date 01.07.2026 to see instantly whether you fall inside the 18 to 35 year band this recruitment allows. There is no age relaxation here, so the band is the same for every category.

Selection Process

StageDetails
1. Online applicationRegistration and form submission on upanganwadibharti.in within the district’s window. Self-attested, clean and legible scans of every document named in the online form must be uploaded. No application or document sent offline or by post is accepted at any level.
2. Online verification of certificatesThe portal itself verifies the application number, registration number and issue date of the income, caste and residence certificates entered by the applicant. Any wrong entry causes automatic rejection of the candidature, and the responsibility is entirely the applicant’s.
3. Merit listMerit is prepared purely on educational qualification, from Intermediate up to Post Graduation. There is no written examination and no interview for these posts.
4. Preference order appliedWithin the same Gram Sabha or Ward, selection follows the six-step preference order above — BPL widow first, then BPL divorced or deserted, then other BPL women, then the same three categories from APL families.
5. Nyaya Panchayat fallbackIf no eligible candidate of the required category is available in that Gram Sabha, category-wise selection is made from the concerned Nyaya Panchayat.
6. Document verification and appointmentCarried out by the District Selection Committee, which in Kannauj comprises the Chief Development Officer as chairperson with the District Inspector of Schools, District Basic Education Officer and District Employment Officer as members. Appointment is honorarium-based under ICDS.

Salary and Benefits

All five vigyaptis describe the appointment as mandeya aadharit — honorarium-based — but none of them states the monthly honorarium figure, so no salary table is given here rather than a guessed one. The honorarium for Anganwadi Karyakatri and Anganwadi Sahayika in Uttar Pradesh is fixed by the state government under the ICDS scheme and is revised by separate government order; candidates should confirm the current rate from the Bal Vikas Seva evam Pushtahar directorate or the District Programme Officer’s office.

How to Apply

  1. Open upanganwadibharti.in and, under Important Links, choose Anganwadi Helper New Registration for a Sahayika post or Anganwadi Worker New Vacancy Registration for a Karyakatri post.
  2. Register with your details, then log in through the matching Helper or Worker login link and open the online application form.
  3. Select your district, Bal Vikas Pariyojna and your own Gram Sabha or Ward — you can apply only against a post in the Gram Sabha or Ward where you are a permanent resident.
  4. Fill in your educational details exactly as printed on your marksheets, and enter the application number, registration number and issue date of your income, caste and residence certificates carefully, since the portal verifies these online.
  5. Upload self-attested, clean and readable scans of every document listed in the form, review the whole application, and submit it before the midnight deadline for your district.

Note: Applications or documents submitted offline or by post are not accepted in any circumstance, and no hard copy is collected at any stage. If any fact, figure or educational record is found wrong or forged, the candidature is cancelled.

Photograph or signature rejected by the upload form?
The Anganwadi portal accepts only clean, readable scans, and an oversized photo or signature is one of the most common reasons a form will not submit. Resize both to the exact pixel and KB size the upload screen asks for in a few seconds.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Applying against another village or ward. This is the single biggest reason applications are rejected — you can only apply for a post in the Gram Sabha or Ward where you are a permanent resident, and the residence certificate must prove it.
  • Assuming one deadline for all five districts. Kushinagar closes on 11.09.2026 while Kannauj stays open until 28.09.2026 — check your own district’s date, not a friend’s.
  • Using an old-style manual residence, caste or income certificate. Only digitally signed certificates issued from the Tehsil that can be verified online are accepted.
  • Typing the certificate number or issue date carelessly. The portal verifies these online and cancels the candidature automatically on a mismatch — there is no correction window mentioned in the notices.
  • Using a date of birth from any document other than the High School certificate. Only the DOB printed on the High School marksheet and certificate is accepted for the 01.07.2026 cut-off.
  • Sending documents by post or to the DPO office. Nothing offline is accepted at any level; the entire process runs on the portal.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How many Anganwadi posts have been advertised in these five districts?
A total of 1,754 posts — 1,368 Anganwadi Sahayika and 386 Anganwadi Karyakatri — across Mathura (544), Balrampur (495), Fatehpur (389), Kushinagar (214) and Kannauj (112).

2. What is the last date to apply?
It differs by district — Kushinagar 11.09.2026, Mathura 13.09.2026, Fatehpur 17.09.2026, Balrampur 23.09.2026 and Kannauj 28.09.2026, each up to 12:00 midnight.

3. Can men apply for these posts?
No — all five vigyaptis state that only women candidates are eligible for the Anganwadi Karyakatri and Anganwadi Sahayika posts.

4. What is the minimum qualification?
Intermediate (12th) or equivalent is the minimum, and merit is prepared on qualifications from Intermediate up to Post Graduation.

5. What is the age limit and the cut-off date?
18 to 35 years reckoned as on 01.07.2026, using only the date of birth printed on the High School certificate; no age relaxation is mentioned in any of the five notices.

6. Is there a written exam or an interview?
No — selection is made purely on educational merit and the prescribed preference order, and the Kushinagar notice states plainly that no written examination or interview will be held.

7. Is there an application fee?
None of the five district notices mentions an application fee; candidates should confirm the position on the registration screen at upanganwadibharti.in.

8. Can I apply for a post in a nearby village if there is no vacancy in mine?
