Who Should Apply
This is a contract job, not a permanent post. It runs for one year from joining and can be renewed on good work and the hospital’s need, and either side can end it with one month’s notice.
Keep Rs 20,000 ready for joining. Selected doctors pay it as a security deposit by demand draft, and it is forfeited if you resign or leave within one year.
Selected doctors in General Medicine rotate through the Medical ICU, Respiratory ICU, Dialysis Unit and Casualty. In General Surgery the rotation is Trauma Care Ward and Surgical ICU. These duties come on top of the department’s own work, and General Surgery and General Medicine also do compulsory Casualty duty.
You cannot do private practice in any form after joining. Campus accommodation is available, but you cannot take HRA (house rent allowance) and accommodation together.
Think twice if your NMC or State Medical Council registration is not updated, or if you cannot show a relieving letter from your current employer before joining. Both can stop your interview or hold back your result.
