What This Means for You
Nothing has to be submitted or re-applied for because of this notice. It simply tells shortlisted candidates when and where to turn up, and here is what to do with that:
- Check the table above and note your batch, your test timing and, for Electronics candidates, whether you fall on 13 or 14 October.
- Watch the Recruitment section of the CSIR-CSIO website for your admit card, which carries your roll number and is not being sent by post or e-mail.
- Download and print the admit card as soon as it appears, and keep an original photo ID ready to carry with it.
- Revise from the Trade Test syllabus published in the web notice dated 02.07.2026 for your own trade — the test is qualifying, so clearing it is what gets you into the written examination.
- Plan to reach ISTC, Sector 30-C, Chandigarh by 8:00 am; once that reporting time passes you will not be allowed inside, and no request to change your date, session or venue will be considered.
Note: Qualifying the Trade Test only makes you eligible for the written examination. The notice states plainly that getting an admit card or appearing for the test gives you no right to appointment, and your candidature still depends on meeting the eligibility conditions in Advt. No. Regular 3/2025.
Documents to Carry to the Test Venue
| Document | Format / Notes |
|---|---|
| Admit Card | Printed copy downloaded from the CSIR-CSIO website; entry is not allowed without it |
| Original photo identity proof | Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Voter ID, Passport or PAN Card — the original, not a photocopy |
| Blue or black ballpoint pen | Specifically asked for in the notice; carry your own |

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not treat 8:30 am or 12:00 noon as your arrival time — reporting closes at 8:00 am for every batch, and latecomers are turned away.
- Do not wait for an e-mail or SMS with your admit card; it is only published on the CSIR-CSIO website under Recruitment, so check the site yourself.
- Do not carry a photocopy or a digital image of your ID — only the original photo identity proof is accepted alongside the printed admit card.
- Do not carry a mobile phone into the premises even switched off, as possession alone counts as unfair means and can get your candidature cancelled and you debarred from future exams.
- Electronics candidates in particular should re-check the day as well as the batch, since TAELC 03 is the only trade split across both 13 and 14 October.
- Do not leave valuables in the venue’s care — the organisation has said it will not be responsible for any loss.
