Eligibility Criteria
| Criterion | Detail |

| Application Restriction | One application per post code. If you apply for more than one post code, each one needs its own application and fee. |
| Employed candidates | Must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC), which is a letter from your current employer allowing you to apply. This applies to those working under the Central or State Government, a public sector undertaking or an autonomous body. |
| Post code | Post | Essential qualification |

| 07 to 11 | Technical Assistant | First Class Diploma of at least 3 years in the matching branch, from a recognised university or institution: Mechanical (07), Electrical or Electrical and Electronics (08), Computer Science and Engineering (09), Electronics and Communication (10), Civil (11). |

| Post codes | Posts | Age limit (as on 09.11.2026) |
|---|---|---|
| 07 to 25, 27, 28, 30 | All posts except Fireman and MTS | 18 to 35 years |
| 26, 29 | Fireman ‘A’ and Multi-Tasking Staff | 18 to 25 years |
| Category | Age relaxation |
|---|---|
| SC and ST | 5 years in the upper age limit, against posts reserved for these categories |
| OBC | 3 years in the upper age limit, against posts reserved for OBC |
| Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Central Government employees, meritorious sportspersons | As per Government of India orders (the notice does not state the number of years) |
So if you are 29 and belong to SC, you can still apply for the Fireman post reserved for SC, because the 5 extra years take your limit from 25 to 30. The relaxation works only for posts reserved for your category.
Who Should Apply
- Pick your post code before you start. You need one application and one fee for every post code, so apply only for posts whose qualification you already hold.
- Check where you will work. Codes 10, 12, 16, 17, 18 and 19 are open at two places (Sriharikota, and either Rasayani in Maharashtra or Balasore in Odisha), you must give an order of preference, and you cannot ask for another place once one is allotted.
- Be ready for shifts and transfers. The posts are temporary but likely to continue, the duties include round-the-clock shift and emergency work, and selected candidates can be posted to any ISRO or Department of Space centre in India.
- Treat the fee as a deposit that comes back only if you turn up. It is refunded in full or in part only to those who appear in the written test. Outstation candidates called for the skill test get sleeper-class rail or non-AC bus fare, but nothing is paid for the written test.
- Drivers and Fireman candidates need paperwork ready in advance. Driving experience must be certified by a government, semi-government or registered organisation, and Fireman candidates must attach a medical fitness certificate (PME) from a government doctor with their application.
Selection Process
| Posts and stage | Details |
|---|---|
| Codes 07 to 14 and 16 to 25: written test | Online computer-based test (CBT) of 80 multiple-choice questions in 1.5 hours. You get +1 mark for a correct answer, 0 for an unattempted question and minus 0.33 for a wrong one. Pass marks are 32 out of 80 for unreserved candidates and 24 out of 80 for reserved candidates (only for reserved posts). |
| Same posts: skill test | Worth 100 marks, but only pass or fail (go/no-go), and the marks are not counted for selection. Pass marks are 50 for unreserved and 40 for reserved candidates. Candidates are shortlisted category-wise from the written test in a 1:5 ratio against the vacancies, with at least 10 per category, and are called in batches. Original certificates are checked at this stage. |
| Same posts: final list | The final panel (list of selected candidates) is made in the order of written-test marks, up to the number of vacancies. If marks tie, the academic marks of the essential qualification decide first, and then age, with the older candidate ahead. |
| Code 15, Nurse ‘B’: written test | Online test of 80 questions, 80 marks, in 120 minutes, with the same +1, 0 and minus 0.33 marking. |
| Code 15: skill test and final list | Pass or fail only. Candidates are shortlisted on written-test marks, and the final panel is made on written-test marks from those who pass the skill test. Ties are broken by the academic marks of the essential qualification. |
| Code 26, Fireman ‘A’: written test | Online test of 80 questions, 80 marks, in 120 minutes, with the same +1, 0 and minus 0.33 marking. |
| Code 26: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) | A pass-or-fail test, and failing any one event ends your chance. Candidates who meet the medical norms are shortlisted from written-test marks, up to 1:50 against the category-wise vacancies. Stage I is a run, and Stage II is rope climbing, carrying a human dummy, a long jump and a 100 m run (details below). |
| Code 26: medical exam and final list | Candidates who clear the PET are shortlisted in batches for a Detailed Medical Examination (DME, a full medical check). The final panel is made on written-test marks from those who clear both the PET and the DME. |
| Codes 27, 28 and 30, Drivers: written test | Online test of 100 questions in 120 minutes: Part A Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (50 questions), Part B Elementary English of 8th standard level (15), Part C Elementary Arithmetic of 10th standard level (15) and Part D General Knowledge (20). Each question carries 1 mark, and a wrong answer costs 0.25. To pass you need at least 50% in Part A and 50% in Parts B, C and D together. If too few reserved-category candidates qualify, their pass mark can be relaxed by up to 25%. |
| Drivers: skill test and final list | Pass or fail only, and every category (including SC, ST and OBC) needs at least 60% with no relaxation. Candidates are shortlisted in a 1:5 ratio with at least 10 per category. The final panel is made on written-test marks from those who pass the skill test, and ties are broken by the academic marks of the essential qualification. |
| Code 29, MTS: written test only | Online test of 100 questions in 90 minutes covering numerical and mathematical ability, reasoning and problem solving, general awareness, and English language and comprehension. Each question carries 1 mark, and a wrong answer costs 0.25. The minimum qualifying marks are 50% for unreserved and EWS candidates, 45% for OBC and 40% for other reserved categories. The panel is made on written-test marks, and a tie is settled by reasoning marks first and then by date of birth, with the older candidate ahead. |
In short: the written test decides your rank. For every post except MTS you must also clear a pass-or-fail test (the skill test, or the physical and medical tests for Fireman), but its marks do not count towards your rank.
The online test will be held in 18 cities, subject to a minimum number of candidates: Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Dehradun, Guntur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati and Vishakhapatnam. The centre is given as far as administrative needs allow, and if your choice is full you get the nearest centre that can take you. The test date has not been announced yet.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Applying for two or more posts on one form. Each post code needs its own application and its own fee.
- Submitting the form twice for the same post code. Only the last submitted application counts, so a second form with different details replaces your first.
- Uploading a photo or signature of the wrong size. The portal wants a .jpg photo of 110 x 140 pixels (up to 40 KB) and a .jpg signature of 200 x 50 pixels (up to 20 KB), and the notice says an unclear one can get your candidature cancelled.
- Giving a wrong email ID or mobile number. The notice says call letters and every other message go only to your registered email ID.
- Not holding the qualification on the cut-off date. Your essential qualification must be valid on 09.11.2026, not on the day of the exam.
- Entering wrong bank details or skipping the written test. The fee refund goes to the account you enter, and it is paid only if you appear in the written test.
