Selection Process

StageDetails
1. Written Exam (OMR)Held on 13.12.2026 at centres in Indore, unless fewer than 500 candidates apply. It is an objective (multiple-choice) test marked on an OMR sheet, which is a sheet where you darken circles with a pen. Negative marking applies, which means wrong answers lose marks. The notice does not say how many. Total marks, duration and syllabus are not given in the notification. The exam scheme and syllabus are on mppsc.mp.gov.in.
2. Shortlisting for InterviewBased on exam marks, up to three times the number of posts in each category are called for interview. Candidates tied on the same marks at the cut are also called.
If Fewer Than 500 ApplyThere is no written exam. The commission checks documents and calls candidates for interview in order of marks in the qualifying exam, as the notice says. For 4 to 6 posts, up to 36 candidates are called. Selection is then on the interview.
3. Interview100 marks. Minimum passing marks are 41 for the unreserved category and 31 for reserved categories and persons with disabilities. A candidate who does not attend the interview is treated as ineligible.
4. Final ResultIf the exam is held, the final merit order is based on the total of exam marks and interview marks. If fewer than 500 apply, it is based on interview marks.
5. AppointmentSelected candidates are appointed on two years of probation, which is a trial period at the start of the job.

In short: if 500 or more people apply, you sit the OMR exam first and your final rank adds your exam marks and interview marks. If fewer than 500 apply, there is no written exam and the interview decides.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Write your name, father’s name and date of birth exactly as on your Class 10 marksheet. The notice says no name correction is allowed after submission.

  • Fix mistakes only between 20.10.2026 and 07.11.2026, at Rs. 50 per correction session. Nothing can be corrected at the exam or interview stage.
  • Have your law degree and two years as an advocate complete by 05.11.2026. If the commission finds you short at any stage, your candidature is cancelled.
  • Reservation and age relaxation work only for Madhya Pradesh natives with certificates in the MP government format. Certificates from other states are treated as unreserved.
