Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB / Karmchari Chayan Mandal), Bhopal has released the departmental recruitment rules and examination rulebook for the direct recruitment of Constable (GD) in Madhya Pradesh Police, on behalf of the Police Headquarters, Home (Police) Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. A total of 7,500 posts are on offer — 700 in the Special Armed Force (SAF) and 6,800 in units other than SAF. A minimum chest expansion of 5 cm is mandatory wherever chest measurement applies. No relaxation is given in physical standards at any level. For a transgender candidate, the standards prescribed for the gender recorded in the Certificate of Identity issued by the District Magistrate will apply. Medical standards checked by the District Medical Board include height, chest expansion, vision (not less than 6/9 in one eye and 6/12 in the other without glasses, with no colour blindness), absence of knock-knee and flat foot, and general physical fitness.

| Stage 1 — Online Written Examination (Phase 1) | Computer-based objective test in Hindi and English, conducted by MPESB from 19.11.2026 in two shifts (10:00 AM to 12:00 noon and 03:00 PM to 05:00 PM). Question level is that of Class 8 of the MP Board of Secondary Education. - Visit the MPOnline portal at www.mponline.gov.in and go to Citizen Services, then Application, then the ESB link, and read the instructions and examination rules carefully.
- Click Continue and fill in every field of the online application form correctly, including the Aadhaar number or VID, the marksheet roll number with total and maximum marks, permanent body identification marks and photo ID details.
- Upload the scanned colour photograph, signature and the two lines of your own handwriting in JPG format, and record the prescribed declaration text in your own handwriting.
- Re-read the completed form, then click Submit; note the application number that is displayed.
- Click Proceed to Payment and pay the examination fee and portal charge by credit card, debit card or net banking, then print and keep the computer-generated receipt safely.
Note: Applications are accepted online only. Candidates without a card or net banking may fill the form and pay through an authorised MPOnline kiosk using the Unpaid Application link. Exam Cities
Candidates must give a preference order of four exam cities while filling the form. The written examination is proposed to be held at Anuppur, Badwani, Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Khandwa, Neemuch, Ratlam, Rewa, Sagar, Satna, Sidhi and Ujjain. Centres are allotted randomly based on seat availability in the preferred cities, and no request for a change of exam centre is entertained.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not submit more than one application form — a single form covers all posts, and submitting multiple forms will get your candidature cancelled.
- Do not skip the Aadhaar number or VID in the form; Aadhaar registration is mandatory and biometric verification is done at the exam centre before entry.
