What This Means for You
- Find your roll number in the official shortlist on rrcpryj.org. Your DV date and shift are printed above the block that holds your roll number.
- Download your e-call letter, which is the letter that tells you when and where to report. It goes live 5 to 7 days before your date, and no letter is sent by post. The notice says you will also get an email and an SMS.
- Print the letter and read every instruction in it. Keep a copy of your online application too, because the officials check your documents against it.
- Gather your originals, two sets of self-attested photocopies on A4 paper, and 12 colour passport-size photos. The full list is in the next section.
- Reach the RRC office in Prayagraj on your date, at 8:00 AM for the 1st shift or 12:00 PM for the 2nd shift. Aadhaar-based biometric checking is done during DV, so carry your original Aadhaar card.
- Write the self-declaration paragraph and put your left thumb impression in front of the supervisor, as the notice asks.
- If you clear DV, your medical test is on the next working day at a railway hospital in Prayagraj, Kanpur, Agra or Jhansi. Plan to stay for at least four days at your own cost. The medical fee is Rs 24, and any outside tests such as a CT scan are at your own cost.
Note: being called for DV does not give you a right to the job. The notice says your candidature is still provisional, and the final outcome also depends on a pending case in the Telangana High Court (WP No. 7985/2026).

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not write your self-declaration in capital letters, in mixed scripts, or in advance. The notice says candidates who do this are cancelled.
- Bring certificates only in the prescribed format. Community certificates in any other format are not accepted.
- Do not ask to change your date, shift or centre. The notice says such requests are not accepted, and candidates who do not turn up are cancelled.
- Check that your date of birth is the same as in your matric or SSLC certificate, because no change in it is considered.
- Do not give wrong or false information or certificates. It can end your candidature and bar you from railway exams.
- Stay away from touts. The notice says Railways has not appointed any agent or coaching centre to get anyone a job.
