BFSI means banking, financial services and insurance. For Posts 1 to 4, hands-on tech work alone is not enough: the leadership years must come from leading a team, and years spent as a solo contributor do not count. The notification does not list any age relaxation by category.
Who Should Apply
- This is a contract job, not a permanent one. It runs for 3 years, can be renewed for 2 more, and cannot go beyond 5 years in total.
- There is only one seat for each post, so competition will be tight. Selection is by interview only, with no written test.
- The yearly CTC shown is the highest the bank will offer. Your final package is negotiated with you one-to-one, based on your experience and your current pay.
- If you apply for Posts 1 to 4, be ready to give a 10-minute talk at the interview on your work, projects or achievements.
- If you now work for the government, a public sector company or a bank, you must bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer at the interview.
Selection Process
| Stage | Details |
|---|---|
| 1. Shortlisting | A bank committee sets the rules and calls enough candidates for interview. Meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee a call. |
| 2. Interview | 100 marks. Posts 1 to 4 also include a 10-minute presentation. The bank decides the qualifying marks. |
| 3. CTC Negotiation | Done with each candidate one by one, either at the interview or after all interviews end. |
| 4. Merit List | Made from interview marks only. If marks tie at the cut-off, the older candidate ranks higher. |
In short: there is no written exam, and your interview score alone decides your rank.
Salary and Benefits
| Component | Detail |
|---|---|
| Highest Yearly CTC: Post 1 | Rs 160 lakh |
| Highest Yearly CTC: Posts 2 to 4 | Rs 120 lakh |
| Highest Yearly CTC: Posts 5 and 6 | Rs 90 lakh |
| Fixed Pay and Variable Pay | 90% of CTC is fixed pay and 10% is variable pay |
| Yearly Increase | Up to 5%. A footnote in the notification says up to 10% from the second year, based on performance. |
| Contract Period | 3 years, renewable for 2 more (5 years at most) |
| Ending the Contract | Either side can end it with 3 months’ notice, or by paying 3 months’ pay instead |
| Place of Posting | Mumbai, or anywhere in India if the bank needs it |
| Interview Travel | Outstation candidates get economy air fare: actual fare for Posts 1 to 4, up to Rs 15,000 for both ways for Posts 5 and 6 |
How much of the variable pay you get depends on your performance score:

|---|---|
| 99% to 100% | 100% |
| 97% to 98.99% | 90% |
| 94% to 96.99% | 80% |
| 90% to 93.99% | 70% |
| Below 90% | Nil |
In plain terms, the amounts above are the top of the range, not a fixed salary. The bank will settle your package with you based on what you earn now, and 10% of it depends on how you perform.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Apply for one post only. The notification says you cannot apply for more than one.
- Check every detail before you submit. SBI will not allow any change after the window closes, and it rejects requests sent by post, email or in person.
- Pay the fee on or before 09.11.2026. Without it your registration is not complete, and the fee is not refunded.
- Get a full experience certificate from each employer. It must show your duties, dates, level and responsibilities, and training or teaching years do not count.
- Keep your email and mobile number active. SBI sends call letters by email only and posts every update on its own website, with no separate message.
- Look at the signature file before you upload it. A signature in capital letters is not accepted, and an unclear photo or signature can get your application rejected.
