| Stage 1 – Written Competitive Examination (Offline, OMR) | One objective-type multiple choice paper of 100 questions carrying 100 marks, duration 2 hours. Subject: General Hindi, General Knowledge and General Studies, at the level of the post’s educational qualification. Each question has four options. Negative marking of one-fourth mark applies to every wrong answer, to any question where more than one option is marked (even if one of them is correct), and to the use of whitener or scratching on the OMR sheet; unanswered questions carry no penalty. Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for Unreserved, EWS and OBC candidates, and 35% for SC and ST candidates. The OMR sheet is in triplicate — the original and second copy must be handed to the invigilator or the result is treated as zero; the third copy and the question booklet may be carried home. Tentatively scheduled for 15.11.2026. |
| Stage 2 – Typing Test (Qualifying only) | Held for the posts that prescribe a typing speed. The test is qualifying in nature — the marks scored do not count towards the merit list. |
| Stage 3 – Document Verification (Abhilekh Sanniksha) | A compulsory part of the selection process. All reservation, educational, preferential and experience claims are checked against original certificates, which must have been valid on the last date of application. Candidates who are absent, or whose qualification does not match the service rules, have their candidature cancelled. Verification notices are published only on the Commission’s website. |
| Final Merit List | Prepared on the marks scored in the written examination. Where two or more candidates score the same marks, the older candidate is placed higher; if the date of birth is also the same, English alphabetical order of names decides. Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not submit more than one application for the same advertised post — every application you filed for that post gets cancelled, so cancel the earlier form first, and remember the fee already paid is never refunded or adjusted.
- Do not leave a reservation category unticked in the online form; reservation is granted only on the basis of what is claimed in the application and cannot be added later at document verification.
- Do not assume the Uttarakhand employment-exchange registration, domicile certificate or category certificate can be arranged after the closing date — each must already be valid on 07.10.2026.
- Do not stop at payment: the application counts only when the status column reads “Completed” and the fee has actually reached the Commission’s account by the last date.
- Do not sign differently on the application form, the attendance sheet and at document verification — the Commission can reject a candidature for a signature mismatch.
- Do not use whitener or scratch out options on the OMR sheet, and do hand over the original plus second copy to the invigilator — both mistakes cost marks, and the second one makes the result zero.
