Selection Process
| Stage | Details |
|---|---|
| Stage 1 — Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test | Qualifying in nature. Tentatively begins 19.11.2026. Covers height, chest and vision measurement, followed by the run, shot put, long jump and high jump at the standards listed above. Candidates declared successful here move to the written examination; those found unsuitable are removed from the selection process. Marks from this stage do not count towards the final merit. |
| Stage 2 — Written Competitive Examination | Offline OMR-based objective type paper with multiple choice questions. 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours. Questions relate to the educational qualification prescribed for the post. Syllabus (Appendix-1) is published separately on the Commission website. Negative marking: one-fourth of the marks allotted to a question is deducted for each wrong answer, including a question with more than one answer marked. Unattempted questions carry no negative marking. Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for UR, EWS and OBC candidates; 35% for SC and ST candidates. |
| Merit List and Tie-Breaker | The merit list is prepared solely on the marks obtained in the written competitive examination. If two or more candidates score equal marks, the older candidate is placed higher; if the ages are also identical, preference follows English alphabetical order of names. The final list of selected candidates is published on the Commission website. |
| Document Verification | A compulsory part of the process after the written examination. All reservation, educational, preferential and experience claims are verified against original documents. A candidate who does not appear for document verification, or whose claim is not substantiated, has the candidature cancelled. |

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not submit more than one application for this post — the Commission cancels every application filed by that candidate for the post, and the fee is not refunded.
- Do not leave the reservation category and sub-category columns blank if you are eligible; a claim not entered in the online form cannot be added later and the benefit is lost.
- Do not enter your name, father’s name, mother’s name or date of birth differently from your High School certificate — these cannot be corrected in the edit window, and altering them across multiple applications invites legal action.
- Do not claim more than one sub-category of horizontal reservation expecting both to apply — only the single most beneficial sub-category is allowed, and only on production of a valid certificate.
- Do not wait for the last two or three days to apply; the portal is heaviest at the close of the window and candidates have missed deadlines because of it.
- Do not carry a mobile phone, calculator, camera, pager, scanner pen or any other electronic device into the examination centre — it can lead to debarment from this and future Commission examinations.
