DMRIT, DNMT and DFIT are the three diplomas the notice accepts: Medical Radio-Isotope Techniques, Nuclear Medicine Technology and Fusion Imaging Technology. PET/CT and SPECT/CT are scanners that use a small amount of radioactive tracer to take body images. RSO is a radiation safety officer certificate; the notice does not explain it further.
Who Should Apply
- This is an 11-month contract, not a permanent job. The notice says it cannot be made regular at any stage, and there is no Provident Fund (retirement saving), pension or gratuity (a lump sum for long service).
- It suits people who already hold the nuclear medicine degree and have worked on scanners. The Technical Officer post needs 5 years of experience, and the Senior Technical Officer post needs 2 years and 60% marks.
- If you are in a government job now, you must bring a No Objection Certificate (a letter from your employer saying they allow you to apply) to the interview, or your application may be rejected.
- The first cut-off is 10.11.2026, but the advertisement stays valid until all posts are filled. If you only become eligible later, keep watching the AIIMS Nagpur website for later cut-off dates.
- Think twice if you may leave within 3 months. In that case the notice says you get no NOC, relieving letter or experience certificate. Interview travel is also at your own cost, as no TA/DA is paid.
Selection Process
| Stage | Details |
|---|---|
| 1. Shortlisting | AIIMS shortlists on educational qualification, relevant experience and any criteria the Executive Director sets. |
| 2. Screening test | Only if a large number of applications come in. The notice gives no date or syllabus. |
| 3. Document verification | A committee checks qualification, experience, category and age. Only candidates found eligible can sit the interview. Bring original documents. |
| 4. Interview | Held at AIIMS Nagpur, or another place and mode the Executive Director decides. You must score the minimum qualifying marks (suitability standard) set by the Selection Committee. |
| 5. Merit panel | Qualified candidates are listed in order of merit. Anyone below the suitability standard is not selected, whatever their merit position. Appointment also needs medical fitness. |
In short: AIIMS first picks candidates from the papers you send, may hold a screening test, then checks your original documents and interviews you. The notice does not announce a fixed written exam.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Submit before 5:00 PM on 10.11.2026. The notice sets a time, so a late-evening submission can miss the deadline.
- General, OBC and EWS candidates must attach the fee receipt. The fee is non-refundable, so check your category before paying.
- Qualifications are counted on the last date to apply. A result that has not come by then will not count.
- Government employees should arrange the NOC in advance. Without it, the notice says your candidature may be rejected.
- Do not leave anything blank or give wrong details. Incomplete applications are rejected, and false information can get you removed even after selection.
- Do not ask anyone to push your case. The notice says canvassing disqualifies you from the interview and selection.
