Educational Qualification — Senior Resident
Postgraduate qualification in the concerned speciality. Candidates holding DM / M.Ch / DrNB are preferred over others at the time of selection.
DNB equivalence
DNB (Broad Speciality) is equivalent to MD/MS and DNB (Super Speciality) to DM/M.Ch when obtained at a medical institution with an attached hospital or a hospital with 500 or more beds. In all other cases, one additional year of senior residency in a medical college is required for teaching equivalence.

Valid certificate of registration with the concerned Medical Council must be produced at the interview

Senior Residency restriction
Candidates who have already completed 3 years as Senior Resident under the 3-year Central Residency Scheme are NOT eligible. Total service must not exceed 3 years, and previous service at Central or State Government institutions is deducted from the tenure.
Serving candidates
Senior Residents already working in a Government institution must apply through proper channel. A No Objection Certificate is required from Central/State Government, autonomous body or PSU employers at the time of document verification.

Stage 2 — Walk-in Interview

Stage 2A — Cross-cadre consideration
A candidate eligible for a higher post (Professor or Associate Professor) may be interviewed against a lower post and, if selected, placed with temporary upgradation limited to the tenure or until a regular incumbent joins. Conversely, if no eligible candidate appears, a candidate eligible for a lower post may be interviewed against the higher post and appointed with downgradation. Where no suitable candidate appears at all, the Selection Board may relax the experience criterion.
Stage 3 — Result
The result is displayed on the ESIC website at esic.gov.in/recruitments only. No individual intimation is sent. Candidates are advised to check the website regularly, since any change in interview dates is also announced there alone.
Stage 4 — Offer and Joining
Selected candidates must join immediately after receipt of the offer of appointment, execute a contract agreement on Rs. 100 non-judicial bond paper, submit the Rs. 1,00,000 caution deposit, produce a relieving order from the previous employer, and be declared medically fit by the institute’s Medical Board.

Professional indemnity (mandatory)
Selected faculty must hold a professional indemnity policy — minimum Rs. 30 lakh for Anaesthesiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, Neuro-Surgeons and Plastic Surgeons; Rs. 20 lakh for General Surgeons, Gynaecologists and Obstetricians; Rs. 10 lakh for Physicians, Radiologists, Pathologists and Pulmonologists. A copy of the policy and premium receipt must be submitted within 7 days of engagement.
Other conditions
Private practice of any kind is not allowed. Attendance must be marked manually as well as on AEBAS/FRAS. Either side may terminate the contract with one month’s notice or one month’s salary in lieu.
