Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not treat this as an open application — it is an advance announcement, and no application link, fee or last date has been released yet.
- KEA has explicitly stated that the department list and post counts are liable to change, so wait for the September 2026 notification before finalising which post you will apply for.
- Check whether your post falls in the Kalyana Karnataka local cadre column before assuming you are eligible — those posts are reserved for candidates of the Kalyana Karnataka region under Article 371J.
- Degree-level and PUC-level posts follow the Karnataka Civil Services (Direct Recruitment) (General) Rules, 2021 syllabus for both papers, while diploma technical posts have a separate subject Paper-2 — do not prepare from the wrong paper.
- Keep your Kannada language preparation in mind, since Karnataka direct recruitment exams under these rules include a Kannada language component.
- Rely only on cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea for the notification — several sites are already circulating different vacancy totals for other KEA drives held earlier in 2026.
