In short, only the Research Associate-I post needs a PhD. The other two posts are open to any graduate (Field Worker) and to B.Sc. or diploma holders (Project Assistant), as long as you are not older than 50.

Who Should Apply

  • These are temporary jobs tied to two Department of Biotechnology (DBT) research projects, one on climate-resilient rice using CRISPR gene editing and one on helping crops use nitrogen better. The job ends when the project ends (the notice calls this co-terminus).
  • The first appointment is for one year or until the project ends, whichever comes first. It can be extended or cut short, and either side can end it with one month’s notice. You get no claim to a regular NIPGR job.
  • If you hold a PhD with gene-editing work and a first-author paper, the Research Associate-I post is the one that prefers you. A graduate with lab or field experience has the edge for Field Worker.
  • Skip this one if you cannot be in New Delhi by 3:00 PM on 13.11.2026. The notice says no travel allowance will be paid, and late arrivals are not allowed in.
