Phase-II: Main Examination (Tentatively 12.09.2026)
Conducted online. Objective Test of 170 questions for 200 marks in 3 hours with separate sectional timing, plus a Descriptive Test of 3 questions for 30 marks in 30 minutes, administered immediately after the objective test and typed on the computer. Grand total 230 marks in 3 hours 30 minutes. A penalty of one-fourth of the marks assigned to a question applies to every wrong answer in the objective test; unattempted questions carry no penalty.
Qualifying criteria in the Main Examination
Each candidate must score a minimum qualifying score in each section individually (Test I, II, III, IV and the Descriptive paper). Sectional cut-offs are decided by the Bank depending on the number of vacancies. A category-wise merit list is then drawn on aggregate Main Examination marks.
Shortlisting for Phase-III
Candidates numbering up to approximately 3 times the category-wise vacancies are shortlisted from the top of the category-wise merit list, subject to scoring the minimum aggregate qualifying score in the Main Examination.
Phase-III: Psychometric Test
Conducted for personality profiling of all candidates shortlisted for Phase-III. All questions are mandatory. It may be conducted in proctored mode or at identified examination centres, and the findings are placed before the interview panel.
Phase-III: Group Exercise and Interview (October / November 2026)
Group Exercise carries 20 marks and the Personal Interview carries 30 marks, for a total of 50 marks. Minimum qualifying marks are decided by the Bank.
Final merit list
Candidates must qualify in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. Main Examination marks (230) are normalised to 75 and Phase-III marks (50) are normalised to 25, for a total of 100. Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are not added to the final merit list.
