Marks obtained carry 90 marks of weightage in the final 100-mark merit calculation. Section-wise marks: General Knowledge, History of Gujarat, Geography and Current Affairs of Gujarat (Std-10 level) 30 marks; Gujarati Grammar (Std-10) 05 marks; English Grammar (Std-10) 05 marks; questions on the subject of the qualifying trade 50 marks; basics of computer usage 10 marks. |
| Stage 2 — Apprenticeship Certificate Weightage (10 marks) | 10 marks are awarded only if the candidate produces, at document verification, an NCVT apprenticeship certificate in the same ITI trade declared in the online application. A candidate who does not hold it scores zero in this component. |
| Bonus marks added to the MCQ score | Widowed women candidates who have not remarried receive 5 per cent of the MCQ marks as preference marks. Sportspersons who have represented at national or international level, inter-university level, or in all-India school competitions organised by SGFI receive 5 per cent of the MCQ marks. Proof must be produced at document verification, failing which the marks are withdrawn. |
| Stage 3 — Merit List and Document Verification | A merit list is prepared on the combined 100 marks. Candidates are called for document verification in a ratio of 1.5 times the number of vacancies, or in batches as the Corporation requires. All candidates holding the same marks as the last called candidate are also called. |
| Stage 4 — Provisional Select List and Waiting List | A provisional select list and waiting list are published after verification. The waiting list is limited to 20 per cent of the advertised vacancies and remains valid for 2 years from the date of publication, or until the result of the exam for the next advertisement in this cadre is declared, whichever is earlier. |
| Appointment | Selected candidates are appointed to any department or depot of the Corporation as per its requirement. |

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not submit more than one application — only the last application on which the combined process fee was paid is considered, and every other one is cancelled automatically with no right of objection.
- Do not treat the form as complete after clicking Save — an application that is not confirmed, and whose fee is not paid by 08.10.2026, is simply rejected.
- Do not use a birth certificate as proof of date of birth; only the SSC certificate or School Leaving Certificate is accepted, and the date entered online is final and cannot be changed later for any reason.
- Do not claim the 10 apprenticeship weightage marks unless your apprenticeship is in the exact trade you declared online — an apprenticeship in a different trade, for example Lineman or Wireman against an Electrician ITI, earns nothing.
- Do not upload a photograph or signature larger than 10 KB or in a format other than JPG, and make sure your face is clearly identifiable — an unclear photograph is grounds for rejection.
- Do not change the mobile number and email ID entered in the application until the entire recruitment process is over, since all correspondence goes to them.
- Do not apply if you are above the stated age limit — the notification says such applications are cancelled automatically even if the form goes through, and no intimation is given to the candidate.
