| Other Backward Classes, Non-Creamy Layer (NCL): OBC candidates whose family is not in the higher-income creamy layer | 3 years |
| Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe | 5 years |
| Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), with at least 40% disability | 10 years, in addition to any SC/ST/OBC relaxation |
| Ex-Servicemen | As per Government guidelines |

So an OBC (NCL) candidate can be up to 48 years old on 01.10.2026, and an SC/ST candidate up to 50. Your EWS, caste or disability certificate must be in the format given on the BEEI website, otherwise you are treated as General category.
Who Should Apply
- This is a three-year fixed-tenure job. The notice says it does not turn into a permanent post automatically, so apply only if a three-year engagement works for you.
- You need 3 years of teaching experience gained after your required qualification. Freshers cannot apply, and experience without a certificate is not counted.
- All posts are in Bengaluru, and you can apply for only one post. Pick the post code that matches your qualification best.
- The job comes with school-hours rules: you reach 15 minutes before the bell, leave 15 minutes after the closing bell, and take extra classes, even on holidays, if the syllabus is behind.
- If you work in a PSU or a government organisation, you must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC, a letter from your employer allowing you to apply) at the time of application, written test or interview.
Selection Process
| Stage | Details |
|---|---|
| 1. Shortlisting | BEEI shortlists candidates only from the details you fill in the application form. Meeting the minimum qualification and experience does not guarantee a call. |
| 2. Written Test | Counts for 70% of the final marks. It has 50 marks for your subject, 10 marks for general knowledge and 10 marks for aptitude, and lasts 90 minutes. The venue comes by email. |
| 3. Interview | Counts for 30% of the final marks. Only candidates who pass the written test are called, in a 1:5 ratio, which normally means five candidates for each post. |
| 4. Final Selection | BEEI publishes the shortlisted and selected names on its website. It does not write separately to candidates who are not selected. |
In short: the written test is worth 70 of the 100 marks and the interview 30, so the written test matters most. Only those who pass it reach the interview.
