100 objective questions carrying 100 marks in total, 01 mark for each correct answer and no negative marking for wrong answers. Duration 90 minutes. The paper can be attempted in Hindi or English. Minimum qualifying percentage is 60% for UR / OBC (NCL) / EWS and 50% for SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen. Further selection is made on merit. Test Centres
Candidates must give preference for five cities while filling the online application, and no change is allowed afterwards. Options are Delhi-NCR, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kanpur, Agra, Vadodara, Indore, Thane, Pune, Guwahati, Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Cuttack, Harohalli, Jaipur and Patiala. NCRTC reserves the right to assign any centre, or to cancel or add a centre.
Stage 2 — Medical Fitness Test
Candidates selected in the CBT undergo a medical fitness test. A-3 standard applies to Post Codes D01 to D05 and B-1 standard to Post Codes D06 to D09. Both require distant vision of 6/9 or better with or without glasses, near vision Sn 0.6, and present colour, binocular and night vision. Lasik surgery and any form of radial keratotomy are not permitted. NCRTC bears the cost of the first medical examination.
Document Verification
Eligibility is verified against original documents on the date of the medical examination. Candidature at every stage is purely provisional, and a candidate found ineligible at verification is rejected even after clearing the CBT.
Applying for more than one post
A candidate may apply for more than one post, but the CBT for multiple posts may be held on the same date and time — so a candidate can appear in the CBT for one post only.
After selection
Intensive on-the-job training, a probation period of 02 years, and a surety bond to serve NCRTC for a minimum of 03 years with one month notice on either side.
