Questions are based on the educational qualification prescribed for the post; the detailed syllabus is at Appendix-1, already uploaded on the Commission website. Each question carries four options and only one best answer must be marked. Negative marking: one-fourth of the marks allotted to a question is deducted for every wrong answer, and marking more than one answer is also treated as wrong. No negative marking for unattempted questions. Tentative exam date: 20.12.2026. This stage is merit-based. |
| Minimum Qualifying Marks | Candidates of the Unreserved, EWS and OBC categories must score at least 45 per cent, and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates at least 35 per cent, in the written examination. Candidates scoring below this are declared ineligible regardless of merit position. |
| Stage 2 – Typing and Shorthand Test | Candidates equal to 04 times the number of vacancies are shortlisted on the merit of the written examination and called for the typing test and shorthand test. This stage is qualifying in nature only and its marks are not added to the final merit. |
| Merit List and Post Allotment | The final merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written competitive examination. In case of a tie, the older candidate is placed higher; if the date of birth is also the same, candidates are ordered alphabetically by name in the English alphabet. Post and department allotment is made on the basis of merit and the post-wise or department-wise preference given by the candidate. |
| Document Verification | A mandatory part of the selection process. All claims relating to reservation, educational qualification, preferential qualification and experience are verified against original records. Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not submit more than one online application for the same advertised post — the Commission cancels every application filed for that post if you do.
- Enter your name, father’s name and date of birth exactly as they appear on your High School certificate; no other document is accepted as proof of date of birth, and a mismatch can cost you the exam.
- Claim your vertical and horizontal reservation in the online form itself — a category not claimed at the application stage earns no benefit later, however valid your certificate is.
- Make sure every reservation and qualification certificate is issued and valid on or before 14.10.2026, and that your EWS certificate falls inside the 01.04.2026 to 14.10.2026 window.
- The correction window is only 17 to 19 October 2026, and even then your name, parents’ names, date of birth and exam centre can never be changed.
- The fee is non-refundable and is not adjusted against a fresh application if you cancel and re-apply, so check every entry before paying.
- Do not wait until the last few days — the portal takes heavy load close to the deadline and candidates have lost their chance to apply because of it.
