How 60% is checkedThe percentage on the consolidated mark sheet is used. If there is none, the average of all semesters or years is used. If only CGPA is given and the university has no conversion rule, 6 on a 10-point scale counts as 60%.
Medical StandardSound health and free from colour blindness. No relaxation.
Working or not workingYou can apply either way, if you have the qualification and experience
Former IRCON contract staffCan apply if their contract ended because a project closed. Attach a copy of the termination letter. This counts as a fresh appointment.

So you need both a 60% Electrical Engineering degree and five years of the right kind of work. Teaching, training or consultancy years do not count, and your age is counted on 01.10.2026, not on interview day.

Who Should Apply

  • This is a contract job, not a regular IRCON post. It starts for 18 months, can be extended by one more year, and ends with the project.
  • You will be posted on NFR projects in Assam, and your working hours and days will follow the project.
  • The pay is flat at Rs 60,000 a month with no allowances on top. The only rise is 5% each completed year, and travel allowance is paid only when you are sent on outstation duty.
  • It suits people with railway, metro or power utility work behind them. If your experience is only teaching, training or consultancy, it will not be counted.
  • You must travel to the venue yourself. Requests to change the date, time or place are not accepted, and the process can run for more than one day, so plan your stay.
