Seats for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
These seats are already counted inside the totals above. VI is visually impaired, HI is hearing impaired, OC is orthopaedically challenged (shown as OH in the notification table) and ID is intellectual disability.
| State / UT | VI | HI | OC | ID |

| Total | 12 | 12 | 13 | 11 |
PwBD candidates must submit a disability certificate or UDID card from a competent authority, dated on or before the last date of registration. A certificate marked “likely to improve” does not qualify for PwBD reservation.
Eligibility Criteria
| Criterion | Detail |
|---|---|
| Nationality | Indian citizen. Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugees who came to India before 01.01.1962, and persons of Indian origin who migrated from certain countries (listed in the notification) can also apply, but they need a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India |
| Educational Qualification | Graduate degree in any subject from a recognised university, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government. You must have passed on or after 01.04.2022 and not later than 01.11.2026, with the final result declared on or before 01.11.2026 |
| Age Limit | 20 to 28 years as on 01.11.2026. That means born between 02.11.1998 and 01.11.2006 (both days inclusive), before any relaxation |
| NATS Registration | You must first register on the NATS 2.0 apprenticeship portal and have a 100 percent complete profile |
| Earlier Training or Work | Not eligible if you have already done an apprenticeship, are doing one now, or have 1 year or more of job experience after finishing your studies |
| Local Language | You must be able to read, write, speak and understand one of the listed local languages of the state you apply for |
| Application Restriction | One state or UT only, and one application only. If you apply more than once, only the latest completed application is kept and the fees for the others are forfeited |
| Ex-servicemen | Ex-servicemen are not engaged as apprentices, and there is no reservation for them |
Age Relaxation
| Category | Relaxation in Upper Age Limit |
|---|---|
| Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe | 5 years |
| Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) | 3 years |
| Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) | 10 years |
| Persons affected by the 1984 riots | 5 years |
| Widows, divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried | Upper age up to 35 years (General/EWS), 38 years (OBC) and 40 years (SC/ST) |
The 28-year limit applies to General and EWS candidates. SC, ST and OBC candidates can add the PwBD or the 1984 riots relaxation on top of their own, but only one of those two. You must show the certificates for any relaxation at the interview or at a later stage of selection.
In short: the upper age limit is 28 years for General and EWS, 31 for OBC and 33 for SC and ST, counted on 01.11.2026.
Who Should Apply
- This is 12 months of paid training, not a regular job. The bank says it has no duty to offer you employment during or after the training, and you have no duty to accept one.
- Your final graduation result must have been declared on or before 01.11.2026. If your result came after that date, you cannot apply even if you have passed.
- Pick your state with care. You can apply for one state only, and you need to know one of its listed local languages well enough to pass a test, unless your class 8, 10 or 12 marksheet shows you studied it.
- You choose three districts of your state while registering, but the bank can post you to any district of that state. Mere choosing does not give you a right to a particular district.
- If you have already done an apprenticeship elsewhere, or have worked for a year or more after finishing your studies, you are not eligible.
Selection Process
| Stage | Details |
|---|---|
| 1. NATS registration | Before applying, register on the NATS 2.0 portal and complete your profile. Note down your Enrolment ID for later |
| 2. Online test | Objective multiple-choice test of 100 questions and 100 marks in 60 minutes in total. It is held in major regional languages, except the English section. The bank sets the minimum aggregate marks, and SC, ST, OBC and PwBD candidates get 5 percent relaxation. There is no minimum mark for any single section |
| 3. Merit list | Prepared state-wise and category-wise from your total marks, highest first. If candidates tie at the cut-off, the older candidate ranks higher. A wait list is also made. If the test is held in more than one session, scores are normalised using the equi-percentile method |
| 4. Local Language Proficiency Test | Held after you clear the online test, at a centre in your state and at your own expense. If you fail, you are not engaged. You are exempt if you submit a class 8, 10 or 12 marksheet or certificate showing you studied the language you opted for |
| 5. Interview | The bank may hold an interview or skip it |
| 6. Document verification and medical fitness | You must bring your original documents and be declared medically fit by a bank-appointed doctor, or produce a medical certificate if the bank asks for one |
| 7. Engagement | Selected candidates get the apprenticeship offer digitally on the NATS 2.0 portal |
In short: the online test marks decide your place in the merit list for your state. The language test is only pass or fail, and the notification does not say whether interview marks, if any, are added to the score.

| Dropping out | If you drop out or abscond in a quarter, you must refund the stipend paid for that quarter |
| Secrecy | You must keep the bank’s and its customers’ information strictly confidential, during and after the training |

Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Applying for more than one state. Only your latest completed application is kept, and the fees for the earlier ones are lost.
- Writing the handwritten declaration in capital letters, in another language, or getting someone else to write it. The application is treated as invalid.
- Signing in capital letters. The signature must also match everywhere later, including the call letter and attendance sheet.
- Skipping the NATS profile. Only candidates with a 100 percent complete profile can apply to the bank.
- Spelling your name differently from your certificates and marksheets. Any mismatch can cancel your candidature, and nothing can be changed after Final Submit.
- Leaving the application for the last day. A paid fee without an e-Receipt means the application is incomplete and stands rejected.
